No Kings

On October 18, some 200,000 people came together in Washington, DC for the No Kings rally along Pennsylvania Avenue to protest modern America’s creeping authoritarian movement. While some of the signs were quite serious—obviously the potential death of our democracy isn’t a joke—many were lighthearted and fun. Humor is of course an important element of protest movements, and the atmosphere of the day was overall pretty joyful and fun, despite the reason we were all there.
